Two young people with very different ways of thinking come from two very different families. One belongs to a religious family of a martyr, the other to a family that is not religious. At their professor's insistence, they have to work on a thesis about each other, and so they start introducing each other to their own worlds and friends. Getting to know each other's lives brings them closer than either expected. Del Shekasteh, whose title means "broken-hearted", is an Iranian film written and directed by Ali Roueintan and produced by Majid Esmaeili.

Two Worlds, One Thesis
The story uses a university assignment to bring together two people who might never have met otherwise. The thesis forces each of them to explain their own life and values, and to see the other's family and friends up close.
A campus setting
The film was shot at the agricultural campus of the University of Tehran in Karaj, which gives the student story its university backdrop. The setting keeps the story among students and teachers, where a professor's assignment is enough to bring two people from very different backgrounds together.
