Ostokhan Sooz (استخوان سوز) 2026 – Iranian Prison Drama

Ostokhan Sooz is a 2026 Iranian series in the social drama genre. Written and directed by Majid Esmaili and produced by Sadegh Shamsaei, the series centres on prison life, the legal system and personal grudges that follow people behind bars.

The official tagline sums up the tone: “Woe to the prisoner whose jailer holds a grudge.” (Persian: وای به حالِ زندانی که زندانبانش ازش کینه داره)

The series premiered exclusively on FilmNet on 26 October 2026 (4 Aban 1405) and consists of 14 episodes. Early episodes are available to watch on Pardeh.

Story overview (spoiler-free)

Ostokhan Sooz explores what happens when power over a prisoner is held by someone who has personal reasons to make life harder. The story moves between prison, the legal process and the families affected by both.

Filmed in Tehran and its surroundings, the series treats imprisonment, judicial issues and family pressure as central parts of the drama rather than background elements. The title itself (literally “bone-burning”) refers to something painfully harsh.

What makes Ostokhan Sooz different

Many Iranian dramas touch on family conflict. Ostokhan Sooz places that conflict inside the prison and legal system. The central tension comes from the imbalance of power between a prisoner and the people who control their daily life.

The series also brings together a mix of established actors (Farhad Ghaemian, Shaghayegh Farahani, Mahmoud Paknit) and newer faces, including the director himself in the cast.
